King Middle School recognized as a Mutual Sense Certified School: Digital Citizenship

Oceanside, CA – Common Sense, the national nonprofit organization defended to helping kids and families thrive in a world of digital media and engineering, has recognized Rex Eye School  as a Common Sense Certified School: Digital Citizenship.

Male monarch Middle School has demonstrated its commitment to taking a whole-customs approach to preparing its students to apply the immense power of digital media to explore, create, connect, and acquire, while limiting the perils that exist in the online realm, such every bit plagiarism, loss of privacy, and cyber-bullying.

"We applaud the faculty and staff of Male monarch Middle School  for embracing digital citizenship as an important part of their students' didactics," said Jessica Lindl, Head of Mutual Sense Didactics. "King deserves high praise for giving its students the foundational skills they need to compete and succeed in the 21st-century workplace and participate ethically in social club at big."

King has been using Mutual Sense Education's innovative and research-based digital citizenship resources, which were created in collaboration with Dr. Howard Gardner of the GoodPlay Project at the Harvard Graduate Schoolhouse of Pedagogy. The resources teach students, educators, and parents tangible skills related to Net safety, protecting online reputations and personal privacy, managing online relationships, and respecting artistic copyright. The gratis resources are currently used in more than 90,000 classrooms nationwide.

"We're honored to exist recognized as a Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certified School," said Principal Greg Smedley, "Past preparing our students to use engineering safely and responsibly, we are providing them unlimited opportunities to maximize and personalize their learning."

OPD Traffic News

trafficOPD officers are in the expanse of the school at both drib off and dismissal times in an effort to ensure the condom travel of all students.  Please abide by the traffic laws and posted zones, show respect for school staff, and be courteous drivers.  The safety of all of the children is our master business organisation.

  • The bike lane was modified along Mesa Drive to permit for more parking forth the north side of the road.  This parking area is not being used and is available to ease drop off and pick upward of students.  This is a less congested alternative to the busy MLK park parking lots.
  • The "right plough on red" ability from westbound Mesa to northbound Via Rancho is now restricted during student driblet off times.  Violations will be enforced, and tickets will be issued.
  • Please respect the ruby-red curb lines and exercise not park there to pick up or drop off a student.  This includes the driveways to the church.
  • Please respect the direction of schoolhouse security staff every bit they endeavour to assist students in using the crosswalks.  Exercise not cake the crosswalks.  Additional crosswalks take been added on the admission streets near the schoolhouse.
